Independence Day 2015 - normal recycling and trash collection schedule; Transfer Station closed

Saturday, July 4, 2015 - Independence Day - All County-provided recycling and trash collections before and after the holiday will be made on their normal schedule.

If you (or your community) have a private contract for your trash collection, or if you live in a municipality, our schedule announcements may not apply to your trash service -- check with your hauler or community manager.

We earned the Gold Excellence Award in the Integrated Solid Waste Management Systems category from the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA).

This awards program recognizes outstanding solid waste programs and facilities that demonstrate environmentally and economically sound solid waste management practices.

Our integrated solid waste management system, helping to reach Montgomery County's 70 percent recycling goal, consists of:
  • interrelated programs that promote waste reduction and recycling;
