Labor Day 2016 - modified recycling and trash collection schedule; Transfer Station closed

Monday, September 5, 2016 - Labor Day - No County-provided collection services will occur on this day. After the holiday, all County-provided recycling and trash collections will slide, and be one day later than normal.

If you (or your community) have a private contract for your trash collection, or if you live in a municipality, our schedule announcements may not apply to your collection service -- check with your hauler or community manager.

Celebrate PARK(ing) Day with the Department of Environmental Protection on Friday, September 16, 2016, from 9 am to 3:30 pm in Wheaton at Grandview Ave. and Reedie Dr.

For one day, we’re turning parking spaces into mini-parks with plants, kids activities, discovery tables and outdoor seating.

Watershed restoration and outreach grants available


Know of an organization that could benefit from a Montgomery County Watershed Restoration and Outreach Grant? The grant program's goal is to reduce storm-water runoff and pollutants through community-based on-the-ground restoration projects and public engagement.

Creative and innovative proposals are encouraged. Together, these efforts will restore and protect the local rivers and streams of Montgomery County.
